My commitment to you, as a reader of my blog and newsletter is that I aim to send you what adds huge value to your life. So, here is a powerful insight that showed up a few weeks ago.  As is often the case, it is on reflection that you really receive the power of the message.

For his school assignment, my fourteen year-old son Billy interviewed an incredibly successful friend of ours, AFL Dual Premiership Player, Brownlow Medallist and Australian of the Year, Adam Goodes. I absolutely loved and was blown away by the simple, truthful and powerful message that Goodesy told Billy was one of his greatest life lessons. Here it is:

“I think the biggest thing I’ve learnt Billy, is to treat people the way you want to be treated. The relationships that you have with people – it’s very important. Whether it’s a business relationship, or if it’s with people that you have just met for the first time.”

Below, is some photos of Billy, his friends and their role-model Goodesy at a recent AFL game where John arranged for them to meet him. Huge thanks to John for organising the meet-up and interview and to Billy and Adam for giving me permission to share some of it with you.

What’s news in my Motivational Speaking?

  • Speaking bookings are coming in fast and I’m loving working with businesses and schools more and more frequently.
  • It was awesome to work with Evans and Partners Stockbroking firm at beautiful Mayfair building in the city of Melbourne a few weeks ago. I presented to and we shared morning tea with their valued financial planners, clients and staff. It was an excellent and intimate morning with amazing people. Themes were: integrity, life-balance, leadership and achieving challenging goals. Images below, with thanks to Stuart and Evans and Partners.

  • On the Ironman Triathlon front, my next race will be my 7th IM, it is Ironman Cairns on June 8th. Yes, its very soon! I also finished my sixth IM at Taupo, New Zealand in March this year; it was one of my best Ironman races under the guidance of awesome coach Peter McKenzie. Huge thanks to John for his support and to Liv Giant, Giant, CBD Cycles and Oakley, who are my main sponsors. I am swim training with Dave Wilson & Buddy Portier and for triathlon, am now self-coaching with lots of help from my sister Alice. We are also talking frequently to seasoned age-groupers and coaches, John Hill and Annie Martin. Here is a pic, racing in front of beautiful Lake Taupo.

I’m often asked, how I fit it all in?

“You can do it all – though, remember that you don’t need to do it all at once.”

Be kind to yourself and others and …Cherish Life.

Lots of love,
