FITNESS
In 2005 Grace returned to fitness after having her son. She completed the Melbourne Marathon and gained her personal trainer full qualificiations from the Australian Instititute of Fitness.
She says,
"I am happy on my bike, on the track and at the end of hard session swimming. Running across the finish line of the Forster Australia Ironman in 2005 holding my son’s hand is one of my most treasured memories in the world."
TRIATHLON AND ULTRA-DISTANCE RACING
Grace says,
In June 2004 I admitted to myself how unfit I was. Throughout school I loved sport, however I had let my fitness slide to doing basically no exercise since birth of my son at 20 years of age. Although I looked like a model, I was not, and did not feel healthy and I made a decision to change this. I set a goal to complete a marathon in October 2004 which I completed and of more significance to me, I succeeded in my secondary goal to “not walk!”. After this, I feel the sport of triathlon found me and in turn, I found a passion which I never believed possible. I completed a Half-ironman where I qualified for and later completed the full Australian IRONMAN in April 2005 (3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42km run). I have since completed 2 international Ironman races (Korea, Arizona) and also raced in Thailand, Phuket as part of American Triathletes Magazine’s Swimsuit Edition.
